
Mark A. Steele, M.D.
Dr. Mark Steele is a board certified pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus surgeon with a private practice in Manhattan. He has been listed numerous years in the Castle and Connolly’s and New York Magazines’ New York Metro Top Doctors in his specialty of strabismus surgery. He has served as president of the Greater New York Society for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
After graduating from the New York University School of Medicine, Dr. Steele continued at NYU as a resident in ophthalmology. He then completed a specialized fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus surgery at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Steele is the founder of Pediatric Ophthalmic Consultants, the complex strabismus consultant for the NYU Center for Craniofacial Anomalies and directs the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Division at NYU Medical Center.
Dr. Steele performs the majority of his strabismus surgery at the NYU Medical Center in Manhattan. He is also an attending surgeon at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary.
Emily J. Ceisler, M.D.
Dr. Emily Ceisler is a board certified pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus surgeon with a private practice in Manhattan.
After graduating from Harvard Medical School, Dr. Ceisler completed a residency in ophthalmology at Harvard’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Subsequently, Dr. Ceisler completed a specialized fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus surgery at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.

Louis E. Furlan, M.D.
Dr. Louis Furlan is a board certified pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus surgeon with a private practice in Manhattan and New Jersey.

Marc Lustig, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Marc Lustig is a board certified pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus surgeon with a private practice in Manhattan.
After completing his combined M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at the New York University School of Medicine, he finished his fellowship training at the NYU Medical Center and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. Dr. Lustig earned his Ph.D. in an NIH funded program studying the roles of growth factors involved in the early neuro-development of the visual pathways.
Dr. Lustig is also a dedicated volunteer paramedic for a local ambulance corps. He performs the majority of his pediatric eye surgery at the NYU Medical Center. He also is an attending surgeon at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary.
Shirah R. Schwartz, M.D.
Dr. Shirah Schwartz is a board eligible pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus surgeon with a private practice in Manhattan.
After graduating from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Schwartz completed a residency in ophthalmology at North Shore-Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Medical Center. Subsequently, Dr. Schwartz completed a specialized fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
Dr. Schwartz performs the majority of her pediatric eye surgery at the NYU Medical Center and the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary.
